Colten Farley Memorial Appaloosa Barrel Racing Incentive

Colten Farley was a student at Jacksonville State University and an avid appaloosa barrel racer. He died tragically in April of 2021. The Colten Farley Memorial Foundation was created to honor his life and legacy. The foundation serves youth who participate in the equine and livestock industries.
This year, at the Better Barrel Races World Final show in Oklahoma City, the Colten Farley Memorial Appaloosa Incentive was held. In addition to the competition and opportunity to win prize money, the organization, in conjunction with the Oklahoma Appaloosa Racing All Appaloosa Barrel Incentive, gave away a number of fun awards.
Winners
The class winners were: Christina Trail with Douxda Dash in the 1D, Sarah Miller with Jo Res San Badger in the 2-D, Loretta Gorsuch with Short but Sassy in the 3-D and Tammie Turner with Winning Copy in the 4-D.
The Terrible Trip Award was given to Loretta Gorsuch who, on the way down from Wyoming, started to lose her hay pod off of her trailer. After strapping it down, she was able to make her way to the show grounds and have it fixed before the ride home.
The Dynamic Duo award was given to Hope Neuman and her POA Freddy.
Sophie Knox was awarded the Speaking of Sportsmanship Award.
